TERM LIMIT MEMBERS OF CONGRESS TO 18 YEARS OF TOTAL SERVICE

Created by P.S. on April 08, 2013

We propose a constitutional amendment to limit the total number of years a person can serve in their lifetime in the U.S. House, Senate or a combination of the two to 18 years. Congressmen would not be allowed to start a term if they would reach the 18 year limit during that term. The Founders would never have imagined or endorsed career politicians. They were right. The current system is not working. Both parties has proven themselves incapable of addressing any of the major problems facing America. Partisan bickering has replaced reasoned debate. Term limits would ensure a steady stream of fresh ideas, increase participation, reduce the influence of special interests and keep Congress more in touch with the concerns of the common man. Let's restore our government of the people.
