The 22nd Amendment of the United States Constitution set a term limit for election and overall time of service to the officer of the President of the United States. Congress passed that amendment on 21 March 1947.
As the years have gone by, the citizens in this country have watched U.S. Senators and Congressmen serve terms upward to 36 years. These politicians have also caused many issues such as government shutdowns and have not been productive in years lately.
It is time that a term limit is set for ALL political offices to ensure that the government is fluid and its trust worthiness increases once again. To many of these politicians are no longer looking out for the people that elected them to office, nor the United States. Rome had the same issue and look what happened to them.
