In order for our government to truly be by the people and for the people, term limits for every member of the house and senate are needed. If a member of congress is in his or her position for fifty years, they may not be able to truly relate to the citizens of this country. Having term limits would help to minimize the amount of damage a corrupt or inept government official could inflict. It would also force new candidates to be informed about issues currently affecting our country, this would also help to combat complacency in our government by promoting constant change.
