Just like the president of the United States, congress should also have term limits put into place.
Congress should be a brief civic duty and not a career
This will
- break the ties of special interests
- introduce new idea and fresh thinking
- increase completion among the candidates
- minimize incentives for reelections (pork barrel spending)
- Improves tendency to vote on principle
- returns the power to the citizens
People in Washington should serve for a limited period of time and then go home and get a job in the economy for which they just legislated.
