Political lifers complain that it takes so long to adjust to the inner workings of Washington in order to get anything accomplished. Well, then don't get involved with the tangled web of lobbyists and special interest groups. It doesn't take years of service to read a bill, decide if it benefits your constituents (poll if necessary), and vote appropriately to serve your district. Do your job for your time, then go home. If elected officials knew they had to return to the public sector that their votes create, they wouldn't be so lax about making a mess of our country.
