Terminate the imperial unit of measurement, and implement the metric system.

It is universal. Scientists all over the world use it and so do many lay people. The Metric system is based on 10, simple. The Imperial system has no common route, 16ozs to a pound, 14 lbs to a Stone. 12 inches to a Foot, 3ft to a Yard. No duplicate units, such as ounces of weight and ounces of volume. No different units under the same name. There are at least 5 different definitions of ton, pound, and barrel.
