Terminate the U.S.-Panama Trade Promotion Agreement

The revelation of the so-called "Panama Papers" concerns that country's history of tax haven activities, both illegal and legal but unethical. The Panama Trade Promotion Agreement (PTPA) has only hampered U.S. efforts to discipline these activities, and U.S. citizens and corporate entities engaging in them. Americans don't yet know which nationals may be involved, and don't know (should they be revealed) whether the administration will pursue warranted legal action. But as a start, ongoing damage can be mitigated by terminating the PTPA (Article 22.5 Entry into Force and Termination). The Executive branch, through the Office of the President, can do this alone, without approval of Congress. We the undersigned citizens request that the PTPA termination process begin as soon as possible.
