Texas' attempting to railroad current medicare recipients off medicare and back to work!

Created by R.T. on January 31, 2015

My mother, disabled since 1997, received a letter this week from Health and Human Resources stamped "RETURN TO WORK."

In this letter, it referenced "reviewing" her medical records with a comment stating that based on her current medical records, she is deemed healthy enough to return to work.

My mother is 77 years old and, since being on Social Security and Medicare is an absolute chore due to all the red tape she goes through, if she COULD work, she definitely would have done so.

She cannot even make it on the little bit that she's getting and they even reduced her Food Stamp allotment down to a measly $16 a month...WHO can feed themselves on that? If by chance one of her adult children can possibly help her a little, she has to report that as a 'gift received'
