TEXIT 2016 would allow the secession of the state of Texas over a period of 5 years. The 5 years would be defined by the slow disintegration of the American government and the establishment of the New Texan government, a Republic. This would provide the people of Texas a way to escape the gridlock of the American federal government and be able to further represent themselves in a way the American government is not currently doing.
