Any attempt to incorporate a "pathway to citizenship" in proposed immigration reform, whether from the House of Representatives or U.S. Senate, is nothing less than disastrous at this crucial point in American history. We are a nation under siege from forces, both internal and external, which seek to fundamentally change the nature of the United States electorate for political gain. Illegal immigrants are being used as nothing more than pawns in this endeavor.
Perhaps most importantly, however, is the fundamental necessity that we as a people should not reward 11 to 30 million people who have broken the law to enter this once proud nation. Do we truly wish to say to future generations that we did not have the courage to face
this issue with intelligence and righteous conviction?
