Thoroughly investigate the actions that led to the 2008 economic crash and put measures in place to avoid a repeat.

Created by E.L. on September 25, 2011

Mistakes were made, leading up to the 2008 economic crash. There was a lack of oversight to adequately deal with rampant ethical lapses, and the government needs to be able to respond to this.

When there are no meaningful consequences for doing bad business, then those practices will continue. The government must have the authority to respond, meaningfully, to unethical business practices, in order to protect its citizens. The practices that led to the 2007 economic crash should be investigated, and actions should be taken to prevent malfeasance in our financial industries, and to promote a strong ethical climate.

We must make sure that our businesses are acting in good faith, and that those who act to undermine that good faith are held accountable.
