While the profession of police work is one of great sacrifice and selflessness deserving of the utmost respect, police are expected to uphold an oath of honor, integrity, courage, public trust and accountability. It appears that the culture of the LAPD does not adhere to such a code or at the very least, numerous officers in the LAPD have chosen not to adhere to such an oath.
While this petition is in no way defending the criminal actions of Christopher Dorner, we the people petition the administration to thoroughly investigate the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) for ethics violations to include accusations made by Dorner and unethical actions taken by the LAPD in the pursuit of Dorner as well as in actions that lead to his death.
