Thousands of 'Accountants' have no choice but to pack up and go home as the Australia DIBP suddenly changed the rules

Created by T.B. on October 27, 2015

From 1 July 2015, the occupation ceiling for the occupation of accountants was reduced to 2525 from the previous year’s 5478. In addition, as stated on the website of DIBP:‘Due to high level of demand, the occupation ‘accountant’ will be subject to pro rata arrangements to ensure availability of invitation across the programme year’
As such, we expect 210 invitations should be issued to accountants every month.
However, only 20 invitations were issued on the 7 September 2015 and 25 invitations were issued on 9 October 2015
We expect the DIBP would follow the pro-rata rule as stated on its website and timely explanation to future migrants for the reasons of such a dramatic change should also be encouraged.
