S. Korean's are required to perform approximately 2 years of military service. Bullying and sexual assault have been a problem for decades within the Korean military ranks.
Recently, Yoon Seung-joo a promising 20-year old conscript was beaten for 30 days. His fellow soldiers threatened his family's life if he reported the abuse.
An Army survey revealed over 4000 other incidents of abuse have gone unreported.
Please support this petition to threaten South Korea's military funding unless they take real and transparent steps toward addressing this issue. We rely on a strong South Korea for Asian-Pacific stability, but we can't allow ourselves to pay for the brutality and savagery they're there to defend against.
