Building upon prior GMO petitions on this site, for similar reasons that they have listed out, we call upon the President to make use of his Executive Powers through the FDA to establish and require GMO labeling.
Specifically, unique to this petition, we call upon the President to work through the FDA to expeditiously amend the Code of Federal Regulations Title 21, PART 101 FOOD LABELING, consistent with the Fair Packaging and Labeling Act to add GMO labeling of both processed foods and produce for distribution in the U.S.
Processed foods with GMO content should be identified in the "Nutrition Facts" label with wording to the effect of "Contains Genetically Modified Organism/s." GMO produce should be required to have a small produce sticker with "GMO" on each fruit or vegetable.
