TIE CONGRESSIONAL PAY TO THEIR APPROVAL RATING AS A MEANS OF ENDING PARTISANSHIP AND INEFFECTIVENESS.

Created by T.S. on January 20, 2013

Politics has rendered Congress is completely ineffectual. The pay of just about every American is tied to performance, but members of Congress get paid regardless of performance.

Create legislation that ties the pay of each member of Congress to their individual performance. Performance would be tied to the approval rating given by the constituants they are elected to serve. This helps insure that members of Congress return to serving THE PEOPLE rather than catering to political agendas.

Full pay would be given for an approval rating of 70-percent. Pay would be reduced or increased by 1-percent for every percent off that level. For example, an approval rating of 50-percent would equate to pay that is 80-percent of the full amount.

Congress needs to serve THE PEOPLE, not their party.
