Tie congressional wages directly with the wages of middle class families.

In 2012, the average income for 99% of Americans was $51,000. (www.forbes.com) The average Congressional salary, however, was $174,000 a year. (www.senate.gov). As we address the issue of national spending and taxation in order to balance our national debt, it is imperative that Congressional salaries are cut significantly. It is illogical to presume that a representative earning more than 3 times that of the average American could represent the best interests of "the 99%". Sign this petition to reduce Congressional salaries to $60,000 until significant economic reform is achieved. Help clean up Washington, and force our representatives to represent us.
