Tie congressional wages to the minimum wage (MW x 6) and only pay congress for hours worked. Reinvest savings in schools

I propose that the congressional salaries be tied to the minimum wage per a formula such as MW x 6. I also propose that both members of the senate and House of Representatives only be paid for hours worked. Savings to be invested into our nations schools.
My frustration, which I trust is shared my a majority of the American people, is that congress refuses to raise the minimum wage, while voting to raise their own salaries on multiple occasions. Hours worked by most congressional leaders could best be described as a part time job.
