Tie Elected Officials Salaries to the Cost of Living Index.

Elected officials should gave their salaries tied to the cost of living index. This goes from the President down to small government. It is the budgets and laws that they put in place that cause everyone to either profit or hurt. Thus why should they be exempt from being reward in good times and suffer like everyone else in bad times by their actions. One note is that it should be tied to the cost of living index of the group above it to keep corruption from happening from the start. i.e. State level officials need to use the cost of living index of nation. Congress,Senate, and house of Reps need to use the Nation as whole not just their own State so as they have to work together to get an increase! President would go by the US's rankings in the World Cost of living.
