Right now congress averages about $70 and hour while they say that $7.25 an hour is a livable wage, if they think we can live off that then someone at the peak of there career should be able to live of three times that at $21.75 an hours saving the U.S. Government $25,813.25 an hour. On the grand scheme of things this may be fairly small but it will help congress understand how the common person feels, and it would push congress to raise the federal minimum wage.
