We the citizens of the United States do herein request that the salaries and budgets of all members of the Legislative Branch be included in any automatic or selected budget cuts. These cuts should affect all individual salaries and operating budgets of each legislator with the exception of security.
These cuts should be based on the overall percentage of the government's budget cuts. These cuts should follow the same timeline of all other budget cuts and be shielded from exceptions by the legislative branch.
An independent overseer should be assigned to ensure that these cuts are applied in a timely manner. Additionally no legislator or employee of these branches should receive salary or budget increase while the government is operating with a deficit.
