Tie the salary of Congressmen and Congresswomen to the median household income of the United States.

Created by D.P. on March 02, 2013

Members of Congress receive a salary of $174,000 per year. Instead of working together on solutions for strengthening the economy, creating more jobs, and bettering the overall quality of life for the people they allegedly represent, they've participated in bipartisan bickering reminiscent of grade school quarreling.

Congress has elected to argue with each other and take vacations over working for the people who elected them to seats of power because they're out of touch with the people they represent. How can they help us if they're not facing the same struggles we are?

Billed as the most unproductive Congress since the 1940s, it's time to make them accountable; tie their salaries to the median household income of the United States.

We simply can no longer afford their nonsense.
