The Veterans Non-Service Connected Pension (NSCP) must be increased to either a Living Wage or The minimum wage. The current amount a NCSP recipient receives is $12,465. That amount when divided by the average hours worked in a year is $5.99. (12,465 divided by 2080 =5.99). Minimum wage earners at $7.25 per hour earn $14
.465 annually. I am unaware of the method that is used to calculate a living wage. That $2000.00 difference would look very good on my dinner table.
Although I have problems related to my service time I have not received a service connected pension. I find it offensive that Congress controls my income and consequently my life.
Mr. President, Congress needs to address this issue in the immediate future.
