Currenlty, a married couple who are both Active Duty both get an allowance for housing (BAH/BHA). Given the funding challenges the U.S. currently faces, this would be one area that could be addressed. There are certain circumstances when couples are stationed in different areas where housing allowance may be necessary but if both are stationed in the same area, this doesn't make sense and is a waste of money (especially when in high cost of living areas such as D.C./Virginia). This would be more effective way of addressing military spending vs reducing the # of active duty members.
