Kindergarten today is what 1st grade was 10 years ago. In 2014 national education standards, the "Common Core," will begin in 47 states. Here are some of the new
* Students read texts with purpose and understanding as they begin to develop fluency.
* Students work with digital tools to produce and publish research and writing projects.

* Kindergarteners develop fluency with adding and subtracting.
Concepts which were previously at 1st or even 2nd grade levels will move to kindergarten. Yet children are not required to attend kindergarten in 35 states!
Children who do not attend kindergarten today struggle in 1st grade and sometimes never catch up with their peers who attended kindergarten. Please help our country's children succeed!
