Everyone should get the chance to see the Milky Way from Earth. Without travel, this is only possible through a total and complete national blackout, as light pollution is the only thing standing in our way. Seeing the Milky Way would hopefully put things in perspective for a great deal of people. Imagine seeing first hand that there is so much more out there than what we know here on Earth. Perhaps one would experience a revelation of sorts; such as the feeling that maybe there is more to life than what we know, or maybe that our problems aren't so bad in the grand scheme of things.
