A Total Reform in Public Education

Created by M.S. on June 07, 2016

Far too long our educational system has offered a one size fits all approach to educating American children. No two children are alike and therefore their education should not be either. I propose that we offer aptitude tests and discover our children's weaknesses and strengths and tailor make education from grade 9 and up based solely on their needs. Give them farming if that's what they are good at, or sewing, or mechanics, or writing. Why should all children be forced to know the same exact thing when it is likely 9/10 won't use the same knowledge ever in their lives? All schools should have gardens - from k-12. Children with that aptitude and desire should be allowed to grow and cultivate. It's free food and a great knowledge.
