It is vital that we minimize fossil fuels exploration and use as rapidly as we can in order to secure the health of our planet by cutting and reducing carbon dioxide and hydrocarbons emissions and thereby stopping global warming, as we pledged in Paris, before it's too late. To do anything less would be a catastrophic betrayal of all life on Planet Earth, including the lives of present and all future generations.
The opportunities for new technologies based on renewable energy sources are beyond count.
Mr. President, I urge you to halt and cancel as many current and future fossil fuel exploration leases as you can and, instead, to direct EPA, Interior, and BLM to work together with other agencies to foster the needed sustainable technologies.
