Train teachers to keep a firearm in a lockbox.

Created by J.P. on January 17, 2015

Schools and Universities have become more dangerous in the past 20 years. Campuses may have a police officer on duty during school hours, but there is no way to protect all the students and staff at once. Most campuses are open, and anyone could walk into a school building from the street and open fire on numerous classrooms within minutes. Policy states that visitors are to check in with the front office. When a deranged individual wants to harm and kill, they are not going to check in, they are going to walk on campus, and do as they wish. With today's technology, and some training, there should be no reason why a teacher could not be responsible for securing a firearm in a hidden location in his/her classroom or office. Many teachers are already in possession of a concealed permit.
