Transferring control of the A-10 Thunderbolt II from the USAF inventory to the Army or Marines for Close Air Support rolls is a win-win for all services. The USAF plans to mothball 385 A-10's to some desert to rot after 2015 because it "serves them no purpose". The A-10 is a battle proven, reliable airframe that has saved countless American lives on the ground. The transfer would not only save the aircraft but it would open up jobs and new MOS's for the Army and Marines. The USAF would be able to clear out space for their new F-35's and the Army and Marines would get to keep the Close Air Support that the A-10 provides. Lets Save the A-10 Thunderbolt II the friend of every infantry soldier and the bane of enemy Armor!
