transfer control of the Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II from the USAF to the USMC or USA

Created by A.G. on September 24, 2013

We request that the Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II be transferred from the control of the USAF to the USMC or USA for continued use of protection of ground forces. As of now all A-10's are on the "chopping block" to be mothballed due to budget issues, this is understandable except for the fact that there is no other plane currently in service that can provide the same degree of support that the A-10 can nor is there one that can do so while being able to withstand enemy fire as well as the A-10. If the USAF does not feel that they can afford to keep the A-10 in service there should be an attempt to see if other branches of the military would be interested in taking control of them for the purpose of providing the best protection possible for our ground troops.
