The importance of this petition is to create a public transportation system that not only caters to people that live inside the city but also for those that live outside the city. This would allow those without their own transportation to become a more productive role of society. Those without jobs would be able to find and keep their job. Those with transportation that have lost their privilege to drive will be able to continue to work. Handi capped people can become more dependent. Those individuals that live in rural areas without transportation should not have to worry how they are going to be able to get where they need to go. A transit system for those outside the city limits needs to be developed.
