Discussions regarding the economy have prompted the question: why can't banking/mortgage companies have a 40 year loan option? Think about it - it would mean lower payments per month, which would free up cash that can go back into fueling job creations, or allowing families to save for retirement, or any number of other possibilities. I believe the majority of the population never stays in one place to pay off a home, and if they did, they could reach a point where they could accelerate payments. It would be a win-win for everyone.
