New Direction 4 New Hope urges concerned citizens to stand up for equal justice for all. Addiction is a disease, yet we still lack quality care for those afflicted. Addiction sits in the dark corners of a jail cell, while those afflicted with other diseases, sit in private hospital rooms, and receive life saving treatment.
The STIGMA of addiction forces those in need of treatment, to retreat, instead being treated. Far too many young lives are lost in a system that operates in the dark ages. Lives are lost, and those who survive, have lost medical benefits, lost jobs, and lost the respect, that every citizen in this country, deserves.
