The Defense Department has officially ended the unfair practice of barring women from the military. But still, women are not treated equally in the military. It is unfair that women are categorically excluded from the requirement to register for Selective Service. If women are fit to serve in combat roles, then they are fit to be drafted. Congress should act immediately to pass a law requiring all adult women to register for Selective Service.
