Treaty of Mutual Cooperation and Security the US and Japan is NOT applicaple to Diaoyu Island (Tiaoyutai Island). The Island is a disputed terriory between China (inlcuding both Republic and People's Republic of China) and Japan. The involvement of US in a disputed land that was illegaly acquired by Japan shall be prohibited.
