Many members of the three branches of government have advocated or passed legislation to force economically disadvantaged recipients of government benefits to be drug tested, and several have subsequently been arrested on drug charges--after which they have asked for understanding and forgiveness in light of their "disease".
This petition proposes that ALL members of the three branches of government be drug tested--from the lowest seniority representative up to the President. In addition, if they fail they should face massive criminal penalties for drug abuse. Also ALL recipients of ANY government benefits that are beyond the scope of basic human needs--food, medical care, shelter, transportation, education--must be required to pass a drug test.
