The True Nature of the 2nd Ammendment

The true nature of the second ammendment is to protect the people of the United States of America from an overly oppressive government. At the time that the constitution was written, America had just overthrown the oppressive rule of the British Empire. The Second Ammendment was placed within the Bill of Rights to protect the people from the new government in the future. Our founding fathers believed that the ability of the people to stand up to big government was so important that they placed this right listed at number two. This petition is only to display how many citizens would band together and take up arms against the United States should the government attempt to forcefully disarm its citizens. I petition the Obama administration only to view the number of people who would fight.
