We the people ask the federal government to Propose a new Administration policy:

Trump can show respect for Constitution and bipartisan outreach by calling on Senate to bring Merrick Garland to a vote

Created by J.M. on November 10, 2016

If Mr. Trump wants to take a bold step to show 1) that he respects the Constitution, and 2) that he is not beholden to special interests and 3) that he intends to be the President of all people, then he will call on the Senate to bring Merrick Garland to a vote for the Supreme Court's vacancy. By doing so, he can show that he respects the constitutional provisions that gave President Obama the right to fill that vacancy (a long time precedent that may well benefit President Trump at the end of his term). Garland in the past has gotten virtually unanimous GOP approval, and by disavowing the GOP Senates purely political obstruction of the President's prerogative, Mr. Trump can show that he truly is an outsider who will do things differently for the good of Americans of all persuasions
