During this continuing discord around the issues of Race there is a need for a Truth and Reconciliation Commission. There is a continuing denial of the history and validity of the social construct of Race. It is requested the the President acknowledge and support a need to clarify the role of Race in the slavery of Africans and the taking of indigenous peoples lands. The theory of Race is unscientific without basis in biology or genetics. As a country with changing demographics we should be feel obligated to clarify and provide truth and reconciliation of US history to future generations. The commission should be funded (governmental and private) and academically led.
