More than 40 states who issue licenses to child care centers do not require them to carry liability insurance or to inform unsuspecting parents. My son Anthony DeJuan Boatwright was found head-first and motionless in an unattended bucket of mop water. He passed away March 25, 2012. I have dedicated the past 10 plus years of my life to making sure what happened to my son doesn't happen to your child. I was left facing millions of dollars of medical costs and the daycare provider held none of the responsibility for the negligent actions. Childcare centers should required to inform parents of their insurance status and allow parents to make a more informed choice when selecting child care. Other businesses are required to carry some form of liability insurance, so should child daycare.
