Truthfully and honestly redefine assault weapons as weapons of mass destruction.

Guns currently labelled as "assault weapons", i.e., with semi- or fully-automatic action and high-capacity magazines or clips, were designed to afford individual military personnel very high-round-firing capacity for war combat situations. Even in untrained hands these military assault weapons are capable of killing people in mass quantities. By logical definition, they qualify as Weapons of Mass Destruction. We need to acknowledge, redefine and refer to them as Weapons of Mass Destruction, and eliminate public access to them.
Fighting fire with fire results in more fire, which can be massively destructive. When you fight gunfire with massive gunfire, the result is Mass Destruction for the victims, their friends and families, and society as a whole.
