The Constitution was written to restrain the government. The 2nd amendment was written so the power could be kept with the citizenry in the face of a tyrannical government. In the last century governments have been responsible for the death of over 290 million people outside of war known as democide and they must not retain a monopoly on force.
Reps. Diana DeGette and Ed Perlmutter do not believe in the Constitution or the inalienable rights of Americans to keep and bear arms. DeGette is actively seeking to introduce legislation banning hi capacity magazines that exceed 10 rounds. Thus, reducing the effectiveness of weapons law-abiding citizens use to protect themselves legally, while Perlmutter is coordinating with Diane Feinstein on her legislation. Edicts like these are ineffective.
