Initiative 71 passed in Washington DC last November. It is the will of the people that cannabis be legal in the capital. The rider on the 1.1T spending bill was worded terribly and could not prohibit the initiative from being enacted.
Chaffetz (Utah-R) thinks it's okay to threaten the mayor and her colleagues with prison time if they allow the will of the people to continue. This is clearly a criminal threat, and in the eyes of some, treason. We the people petition the White House to begin an investigation into Chaffetz illegal activities before he degrades our democracy any further.
