turn the city of Detroit, Michigan into a federal penal colony.

Created by A.S. on September 27, 2013

This proposal would alleviate the overcrowding that is putting a strain on our nation's correctional facilities. Contrary to what most may think, this project would benefit the American taxpayer. All that is required would be the construction of reinforced walls to contain the former Motor City. The prisoners would survive through subsistence farming and work in the former automotive factories, creating automobiles for cents on the dollar. These products could then be sold at a discount, thereby reinvigorating the American automotive industry and giving it the competitive advantage against cheap Asian and European imports. In great American tradition, a little ingenuity and hard work will turn things around and provide Motown with the Renaissance that it so desperately needs.
