If businesses, such as the DPS/DMV were made into regulated private businesses, then the ideals of capitalism (competition, supply and demand, etc) will take hold.
This isn't a petition complaining about the government workers working at the DMV, although that is a valid point - in a government business, customer service is irrelevant. The business is kept open and the workers are paid, no matter how well they perform.
Instead of being closed by 5pm, on weekend and holidays, the businesses will set their own operating hours. The burden of keeping them open will be taken off the hands of the government, and it will create jobs. This isn't just the DPS and DMV... the possibilities are endless to what this can apply to. Set regulations, and let capitalism reign!
