Two additional hours of daylight in the evening during the winter months.

Created by J.W. on November 03, 2015

People enjoy having more daylight in the evening hours. This plan would add two hours of daylight in the evening during the winter months. Several countries have extended daylight savings throughout the entire year, thus eliminating standard time. This plan would take daylight savings one step further in the winter months by saving an additional hour. Instead of "falling back" an hour the first Sunday in November we would "fall forward" an hour. In the spring we would "spring back " an hour to get back on normal daylight savings time. Multiple studies support extending daylight savings to increase economic activity in several sectors of the economy including retail and leisure. Health benefits are also possible by allowing greater time in the evening for people to be active outdoors.
