When my grandfather came to America in the early 1900's He came by boat from Europe. He went directly to Ellis Island. Once there, He was checked out for security risk, He learned English, He learned about American history, He spent about 3 months at Ellis Island and came out prepared to become a US citizen.
Why can't we do that again. Set up several immigration centers along the border. Those that want to become citizens may enter, have security checks done, learn English, Learn history, Take the test to become citizens and leave the other side as US citizens. Use the money that we are using to chase all the illegals trying to cross, re build the detention centers we already have. Stop the insanity. Becoming a US citizen has become about money and Lawyers.
