I don't understand why people today consider it racist. As a proud American, that is censoring history from our children. It is no more than a battle flag, and it's also a flag of our country, like it or not. Just because some racist groups like Neo-Nazis use them, why should the flag itself be considered racist? It's not the Confederate States of America's fault. You can't say the Civil War just didn't happen and the Confederacy didn't exist.
