"Under God" Should be removed from the Pledge

As we know, The United States of America was founded on pioneers that sought religious freedom. But as time has passed, the Pledge of Allegiance has remained the same. But what about those that do not believe in God? Those that are Atheist should not be required to recite the Pledge with "Under God", even if it is deemed proper in most events, like at funerals, or in schools. And being an Atheist myself, I have made the choice to not recite "Under God" during said events. But when not reciting these two words, I was given detention for my "bad deed". But are those who are Atheist really needed to recite two words, and if not, punished? I petition that those, not just Atheists, but those who are of a religion that doesn't praise God, not be required to recite "Under God".
